2010/02/16
This is to announce that ANA has been approved by Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) to revise its surcharge on international cargo shipments from March 1, 2010.
The cargo fuel surcharge is fixed for one month and revised on the basis of the average price of jet fuel for the month immediately preceding the announcement of the next revision, if any. The next surcharge will thus be set according to the average price of jet fuel for the month of January - as reported by the US Department of Energy - and come into effect on March 1, 2010. As jet fuel averaged of US$85.94 per barrel in that month, the surcharge will be fixed in accordance with the chart below.
ANA regrets that it must continue to ask its valued customers to share the burden of fuel costs, in spite of its own ongoing efforts to control costs and increase revenues.
| Routing | Present (yen) | Revised (yen) |
| Long haul (Japan - N America, Europe, Middle East) | 69 | 75 |
| Medium haul Asia (Japan - Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam) | 53 | 59 |
| Short haul Asia (Japan - Korea, Taiwan, China) | 50 | 56 |
*subject to approval by the relevant government authorities and to change without notice
Fuel surcharge will be calculated base on chargeable weight except Minimum rate class shipments.
The next revision to the cargo Fuel Surcharge, if any, will take effect on April 1, 2010, based on the average price of Singapore kerosene for the month of February, and will be announced in March.
If the monthly average cost of Singapore kerosene falls below US$30 per barrel, the fuel surcharge will be removed altogether.
Your kind cooperation and understanding are highly appreciated.
