ANA Pilot Union Threatens Strike on March 23

TOKYO March 21, 2006The ANA pilot union, and unions of ANA subsidiary airlines, have threatened to take 24 hour strike action commencing 00:00 hours on March 23 (Thu), to express dissatisfaction with the management stance on their springtime demands regarding pay and conditions. The unions in question are: All Nippon Airways Crew Association, composed of 1,507 pilots & flight engineers; Air Nippon Crew's Association, composed of 407 pilots; Air Nippon Network Pilot Union, composed of 43 pilots; Air Next Crew's Association, composed of 14 pilots and Air Central Pilots' Union, composed of 37 pilots.

ANA, Air Nippon, Air Nippon Network, Air Next and Air Central will continue urgent negotiations with the unions to avoid a strike. If strike action is taken, many ANA* domestic flights will regrettably be subject to cancellation and/ or delay.

Passengers intending to take ANA domestic flights on March 23 are kindly requested check the status of their flights with the ANA Reservations Center (0120-029-222), on ANA Skyweb (www.ana.co.jp) or by contacting any ANA branch.

ANA and its sister companies extend their sincere apologies for the inconvenience this will cause to customers and appreciate their understanding and patience.

*Air Nippon, Air Nippon Network, Air Next and Air Central flights are operated under the ANA flight code.

  International Flights - no flights will be affected
  Domestic Flights - 61% of flights (527/863) subject to cancellation or delay
