Passenger Traffic Forecast for Golden Week 2009
- more passengers plan to travel than in 2008 -

TOKYO April 21, 2009 - Forward bookings for the Golden Week holiday period, running from April 28 to May 6, inclusive, for airlines within the ANA Group are higher than the previous year on both international and domestic routes.

The number of passengers booked on domestic flights has risen by 5.1% year-on-year, with the most popular destinations - Okinawa and the Kansai area - showing respective increases of 14% and 7%.

Just over 8% more passengers will take ANA international flights during Golden Week. With an increase of 16%, North American destinations are the most popular, closely followed by Asian countries at 15%.

Notes for editors
1) Golden Week is one of Japan’s most famous holiday periods and encompasses a series of four national holidays in more or less succession: Showa Day (April 29), Constitution Day (May 3), Green Day (May 4), and Children’s Day (May 5). As May 3 falls on Sunday this year, May 6 is a substitute holiday.
2) ANA Group consists of the following six airlines: ANA (All Nippon Airways), Air Nippon (ANK), Air Japan (AJX), Air Nippon Network (A-Net), Air Next (NXA) and Air Central (CRF).
