Passenger Traffic for Golden Week 2009
- 5% more international passengers, domestic hold steady -

TOKYO, May 7, 2009 - ANA Group airlines carried 1,189,270 passengers during the Golden Week holiday period, April 28 to May 6, inclusive.

The number of passengers taking international flights rose by 5.3% year-on-year. Asia and Europe proved to be the most popular destinations, with increases of 12.6% and 8.6% respectively.

Domestic passenger numbers remained almost the same as the previous year, showing a slight increase of 0.6%. With 5.1% more passengers travelling to Itami, Kansai and Kobe airports, the Kansai area was the most popular destination. This was followed by Okinawa with a 2.5% increase.

Notes for editors
1) Golden Week is one of Japan’s most famous holiday periods and encompasses a series of four national holidays in more or less succession: Showa Day (April 29), Constitution Day (May 3), Green Day (May 4), and Children’s Day (May 5).As May 3 fell on Sunday this year, May 6 was a substitute holiday.
2) ANA Group consists of the following six airlines: ANA (All Nippon Airways), Air Nippon (ANK), Air Japan (AJX), Air Nippon Network (A-Net), Air Next (NXA) and Air Central (CRF).
