ANA Summer Vacation Passenger Traffic

TOKYO August 17, 2009 - ANA carried just over 1.4 million passengers during the peak of the Japanese summer vacation period, which is based around the traditional Obon holiday and this year fell between Friday, August 7 and Sunday, August 16, inclusive.

Just under 1.3 million passengers travelled on domestic routes, with the Kansai region in western Japan and Okinawa in the south proving the most popular destinations.

China, the rest of Asia and Europe were the most popular destinations for ANA’s 150,000 international passengers (each region was up 11%, 9% and 4% respectively). The 6 percentage point rise in overall passengers year-on-year is taken as an indication of the return for demand for international travel.
