This upgrade award can be used on flights operated by Air Canada (AC), Air China (CA), Air New Zeeland (NZ), Asiana Airlines (OZ), Austrian Airlines (OS), Brussels Airlines (SN), Continental Airlines (CO), LOT Polish Airlines (LO), Lufthansa (LH), Scandinavian Airlines (SK), Singapore Airlines (SQ), Swiss Intarnational Air Lines (LX), TAM Airlines (JJ)<TAM Mercosur(PZ)>, TAP Portugal (TP), Thai Airways International (TG), Turkish Airlines (TK), United Airlines (UA) and US Airways (US).
The award is not applicable for code share flights operated by other airlines. In addition, the award is not applicable for code share flights operated under other airline flight numbers by Air Canada, Air China, Air New Zeeland, Asiana Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Continental Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Swiss Intarnational Air Lines, TAM Airlines, TAP Portugal, Thai Airways International, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways.

* You must have a reservation for a class and fare that can be upgraded, and a ticket that has already been issued.

* Trains and buses with a Lufthansa flight number cannot be used.

* First class and business class Flight Awards cannot be used on some aircraft models (A380 and B777-300ER) operated by Singapore Airlines.

* The award may not be available for use on some routes and dates by request of the operating company.

* The number of upgraded seats is limited. (Upgraded seats may not be available on some flights.)

* Booking class:C,D class * Singapore Airlines also permits the use of the J and Z booking class. * Lufthansa also permits the use of the J booking class. * Swiss International Airlines also permits the use of the Z class. * United Airlines also permits the use of the J class. (Normal fares are applicable to the above-mentioned classes, but eligible fares differ by airline.Please check eligibility by the booking class of your ticket)

* Booking class:Y,B class * Air New Zealand also permits the use of the U and E booking class. * Scandinavian Airlines also permits the use of the S booking class. * Singapore Airlines also permits the use of the S booking class. * Swiss International Airlines also permits the use of the H, M class. * Upgrade awards cannot be used together with flight awards.

* Upgrade awards cannot be used on package tours and other applicable inclusive tour fares.

* You may not upgrade from economy class to first class. However, on flights with only 2 class cabins (first class and economy class), you may upgrade from economy class to first class.

Use of Awards by infants

Customers traveling with infants who do not occupy seats cannot use Star Alliance Upgrade Awards on Air Canada, Air China, Air New Zealand, Asiana Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways International, Turkish Airlines and United Airlines. Please inquire with the other airlines regarding their terms of use for infant fares.

Use of Awards by children

A child (2-11 years old at the time of boarding) using an Award requires the same mileage as an adult using an Upgrade Award.
