Use of Awards by infants

It is possible to use Upgrade Awards by purchasing a reserved flight ticket with a child fare or special fare for the upgrade-eligible segment, using the same number of miles as an adult. * If you purchased the ticket with an infant fare (without holding a seat), upgrade is not allowed.

When the infant does not use the Award

Purchase a separate ticket with an infant fare (without holding a seat) or child fare (able to hold a seat) in the same class as the accompanying adult's upgraded class.

* For international flights, children under the age of 2 are considered infants (age at the time of boarding is applicable).

Use of Awards by children

A child (2-11 years old at the time of boarding^*) using an Award requires the same mileage as an adult using an Upgrade Award.

* The age at the time of boarding is applicable.

* Reservations must be made in a class and fare eligible for Upgrade Awards.

* Any taxes, airport usage fees, fuel surcharges, and all other incidental charges arising in conjunction with the acquisition or use of Awards are the responsibility of the user. Please note that any taxes, airport usage fees, fuel surcharges, or other incidental fees necessary to issue a ticket will be charged in advance to the credit card of the member or passenger.
