Geography
Nagasaki city, like most of the prefecture, is hilly and surrounded by the sea. The approx. 4,000 sq. km prefecture has a coastline of about 4,175 km, the second longest in Japan. Two quasi-national parks and six prefectural parks.

Climate
Generally mild, with an annual average of 16.6°C in temperature and 2,000 mm of rain.
