Beiling (Park)
This is the mausoleum of the second emperor of the Ching dynasty, Huangtaiji, and his wife. Its area is approximately 332ha, and its real name is "Zhaoling". As this mausoleum is located in the northern portion of the city, it is called "Beiling (Bei means north)". Built with Dongling as a model, this mausoleum has many historical assets, such as palace and castle walls. The surrounding area is used as a park, where many citizens visit on holidays to have fun with sailboats or simply dabble in the man-made lake. This mausoleum is open from 8:00AM to 7:00PM. The charge for admission is 12 yuan.
Take a trolley bus of the route 3 or 15, and get off at the last stop, Beiling.
Walk [See] Shuttle Bus To travel around the vast park, it is convenient to use a dragon-shaped shuttle bus. Approach to the mausoleum Walk trough the gate "Zhenghongmen" and you will find this continuous walkway. On both sides of the path, you will find the stone animals, such as the lion, giraffe, and horse. You will also see the stone pillars with stone animals on the top, which is called "Huabiao", standing in a row. Stone Monument House Walk on the approach to the mausoleum, climb 108 stone steps, and you will find this garden chamber. Within the chamber, a stone monument built under the direction of Dang Xi-di, "Da Ging Fu Ling Shen" is placed.
