Special guidance in overseas airport

Bulky baggage: Advance arrangements with ANA international Reservation and Information Center are required for bulky baggage with total linear dimensions exceeding 203cm (80 inches) or weight per baggage exceeding 30kg (66 lbs) per baggage, or total weight exceeding 100kg(220lbs).

· Carry-on Baggage
   Carry-on baggage should be limited to one piece, must not weigh more than 10kg (22 lbs) and fit underneath the seat in front of you, or in the overhead baggage compartment. The dimensions of carry on baggage should not exceed linear maximum length of 115cm (45 inches),and each side should not exceed 55cm×40cm×23cm (22×16×9 inches), including any baggage attachments such as handles, wheels, etc. Personal belongings such as cameras, may be carried on in addition to the above limitation. There may be more limits based on available space and additional restrictions on certain flights. You can purchase extra seats for your baggage occupying a seat because of its unsuitable size for carry-on baggage allowance, e.g. paintings, musical instruments, etc. Please contact to ANA International Reservation and Information Center for detail.

Each piece not exceeding the total linear dimension (length + height + width) of 158cm (62 inches) and not weighing more than 32kg (70 lbs).
Economy Class 2 pieces of checked baggage
Each piece not exceeding the total linear dimension (length + height + width) of 158cm (62 inches) and not weighing more than 23kg (50 lbs).
And the total combined linear dimension of the two baggage should not exceeding 273cm (107 inches).
Children aged 2years and over and infants occupying a seat Same as adult
Infants under 2years
(not occupying a seat)
1 piece of checked baggage, the sum of the total linear dimension not exceeding 115cm (45 inches) plus one fully collapsible stroller/pushchair or infant’s carrying basket.
Free Baggae allowane on weight is same as an adult.

3. Domestic sectors continuously connected from/to international sectors

International free baggage allowance will be applied to domestic carriage which are ticketed with other international flights in general.

* Over size luggage is not totalized and if one piece’s weight exceeds 32 kg we will not accept the luggage depend on your destination, even if the other piece weights less than 32kg.
· Excess Baggage Charges
   Baggage exceeding the free baggage allowance may be allowed with an excess baggage charge.
   (1) Transpacific flights (including U.S.A.)

<First Class/Business Class>
Baggage exceeding the free baggage allowance will be charged with excess baggage charge per piece. Please note that charge per piece is different between departure from Japan and departure from U.S.A..

<Economy Class>
Baggage exceeding the free baggage allowance will be charged with excess baggage charge per piece (see above chart). Additional charge may apply depending on the size and weight of excess baggage.
For baggage weighing over 23kg (50lbs) and up to 32kg (70lbs), 3,000 yen per piece will be charged for the first two bags.
Please note that charge per piece is different between departure from Japan and departure from U.S.A..
   (2) Other flights (including Europe)
   Excess baggage fee is 1.5 percent of the normal adult one-way economy class fare from departure point. (When there are two types of normal fares as in flights originating in Japan, the higher of the two fares will be used.) Please note that the fee per 1 kg is different between departure from Japan and that from other airports.

- damage or deterioration of the contents of the baggage
- minor damage such as scratches ·  scuffs ·  dents ·  cuts ·  dirt
· Restricted Items
  
The following dangerous goods cannot be carried as either checked or carry-on baggage. Explosives(including fireworks), flammable liquids and solids(including matches , lighters and lighter fuels*, camping and household stoves with fuel**, alcoholic beverages exceeding *** 70% alcohol by volume), compressed gases(including butane gas cassettes and O2 bottles for sport use and Aerosols(Dust removal)), poisonous substances(including insecticides), corrosives, radioactive materials, highly magnetized materials, oxidizing substances, offensive or irritating substances, and any other articles liable to endanger and/or damage the aircraft, persons or properties aboard.

On the U.S. routes, effective April 14th, 2005, all lighters will no longer be allowed in carry-on baggage or on the person. Click here for details.

Medical and toiletry articles and certain other specified articles, in small quantities, may be carried. Please contact an ANA office for more details.
The following items are not permitted as carry-on baggage. Knives of any length, ski wax sprays, or any other items that could be used to cause injury, such as scissors, heavy or sharp tools, ice-skating shoes, baseball bats, golf clubs etc.
 
(*) A small amount of safety matches or one lighter is permitted to be brought into the cabin, per person.
 lighters containing unabsorbed liquid fuel (other than liquefied gas), pistol type lighters, torch type lighters, lighter fuel and lighter refills are not permitted on one's passenger or in checked or carry-on baggage.

  【Passengers departing from China(except Hong Kong)】
Any match and lighter is prohibited, by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, in the aircraft cabin and in checked baggage for the flights departing from the mainland China (except Hong Kong).

  【Passengers departing from Mumbai】
Any match and lighter is prohibited, by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (Ministry of Civil Aviation), in the aircraft cabin and in checked baggage for the flights departing from India.

(**) Fuel in camping and household stoves should be completely drained out prior to check-in.
(***) Carriage of alcoholic beverages exceeding 24% by volume but not exceeding 70% by volume is limited to 5 liters in total per person whether it is checked or hand-carried.
【Passengers departing from China(except Hong Kong)】
Any alcoholic beverages is prohibited to carry into cabin by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. Would you kindly ask to check-in it as checked baggage for the flights departing from the mainland China (except Hong Kong).
(****) Any bleach item which is belong to the oxidizing substance or the corrosive ,is prohibited in the aircraft and in checked baggage.
· Restrictions on the Use of Electronic Devices On Board
  Due to revisions of the notification of Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, “Restrictions on the use of electronic items” were partially revised on and after Oct.1, 2007.
Following are the items cited in the notification, as the electronic devices which may interfere with the safety of flight operation.
You are required to comply with the above by Japanese Law, and failure to do so will result in a fine up to ¥500,000.

Cellular phones, PHS (Handy Phone System),Transceivers, Radio operated toys, Wireless headphones, Wireless earphones, Wireless microphones, Built-in battery type IC tags, Personal computers, PDA (Personal Digital Assistance),Wireless personal computer peripherals, Electronic games, Pedometer with wireless transmission function, Cardio tachometer with wireless transmission function, Wrist watches with wireless transmission function, Wireless keys
Devices prohibited of use during parking, taxiing, takeoff, and landing* Devices listed above, set in a condition that will not emit radio waves when turned on*,
TVs, Radios, Beepers, GPS receivers, Video cameras, Video players, DVD players, Digital cameras, Digital audio players, Wired battery-operated headphones, Wired battery-operated earphones, Word processors, Electronic notepads, Electronic dictionaries, Printers, Battery chargers, Toys “electronic virtual pets” (limited to items in which the speaker or monitor is activated to sound or vibration)
  
* During Takeoff: Until the fasten seat belt sign is switched off after takeoff or the announcement allowing the use of electronic devices is made.
During Landing: After the announcement prohibiting the use of electronic devices is made, up until you leave the aircraft after landing.
ANA may restrict the use of a certain device regardless of the above.
All cellular phones emit radio waves automatically when they are turned on in order to send their position to the ground station. Please switch them off before boarding the aircraft and do not switch them on until after deplaning, as the waves may interfere with the systems of the aircraft. To prevent interference, restrictions also apply to electronic devices in the cabin even when the aircraft is on the ground.

· Warning
Smoking and use of flammable is strictly prohibited in all seats including lavatories, as these constitute dangerous fire-hazards. Restrictions are also extended to smoke substitutes (with built-in electronic lighters) that do not emit fire, while on the aircraft. The triggering of smoke detectors is a serious matter leading to emergency landing at the nearest airport.
