Special guidance in each airport

For those customers entering and departing the United States

Thank you for choosing ANA.

A new guideline has been set by TSA (Transportation Security Administration), with regard to enhanced baggage security measures for preventing terrorist actions against airlines flying in and out of the United States. All checked baggage shall be screened using an enhanced explosive detection system.

In this guideline, TSA urges customers to leave their checked baggage unlocked. If something suspicious is detected in the baggage, it might be opened for further physical inspection. Please be reminded that locked baggage might be opened forcibly by TSA security inspectors without the air carrier being informed.

- Notice -

1) For those customers locking their checked baggage
Please be reminded of new security measures in the notification above. Valuables should be packed in carry-on baggage. ANA shall not be liable for any damage (including damaged locks) caused by TSA inspection.

2) For those customers not locking their checked baggage
Please make sure that valuables are not packed in checked baggage. There is a possibility that they might be lost or confiscated. In principle, ANA shall not be liable for any lost or confiscated items.
