Passengers in Business Class can now request an outboard battery for use with their laptop computers during flights on flights operated by aircraft with no In-Seat Power.
The battery is compatible with approximately 20 different manufacturers.
Availability
The service is available for Business Class passengers flying the routes listed below.
* Please note that the number of batteries is limited, and that the service is
not offered on code-share flights.
Applicable Routes
Applicable on routes operated by B767-300ER only.(excluding flights to Korea,China,Taiwan and Hong Kong) *Excluding flights operated by aircraft with In-Seat Power. Please see ’Others’
for more details on each aircraft.
Procedures
1. If you wish to use the portable PC battery, please tell a cabin attendant.
The cabin attendant will bring the chart of cable cords for PCs.
2. Please confirm that
your own PC is listed on the chart of cable cords for PCs.
3. Please confirm battery type (A or B) and plug code number applicable to your
own PC.
4. Please tell cabin attendant respective details. Thereafter, the cabin attendant will bring
the battery and cord to you.
5. Please hand portable batteries and plug-in cord back to cabin attendant after
use.
*Batteries last approximately 6-8 hours, depending on the type of computer.
After selecting the battery and plug-in cord applicable for your PC, insert yellow plug to the battery.
Insert black plug to your computer input connection.
When you finish connecting plug-in cord to the battery with your PC, it is ready to use.
These portable batteries are only applicable for those computers listed on the chart.
Warning from Battery Manufacturer
1. Notes
1) When using computer, power consumption for portable battery and computer battery
are used concurrently.
2) In case of use in low temperatures, performance of portable batteries may be
adversely effected.
2. Warnings
1) Take care so that plugs do not short-circuit. Care should also be taken regarding
contact with metalic goods (i.e. watch, necklace, etc.).
2) Do not spill water on portable batteries as this may cause problems or result
in damage. If this occurs, pull out plugs immediately.
3) Do not touch portable batteries or plug-in cords with wet hands.
4) If you should drop portable batteries or incur severe jarring, stop usage immediately.
5) If you detect an abnormal smell or smoke emission, switch off the computer
power and pull out plugs immediately.
6) Do not use portable batteries for electrical equipment that consumes more than
2A.

(2) Do not use the portable batteries with computers NOT
listed on the chart.
Inappropriate usage may result in damaging your computer.
(3) Smooth operation may be inhibited when viewing DVD software over a long period
of time, creating a CD-R or using peripheral devices* that receive power via a
computer.
* Those peripheral devices that connect to a PS/2 port, USB port, IEEE1394 port
or PC card slot and which are not equipped with an AC adaptor or built-in battery.
(4) You are responsible for the proper use of these batteries according to the
terms of use and availability. ANA is not liable in case of inadvertent damage
to your computer resulting from usage of portable batteries.
