Airport guide |
|
Airport summary
John F. Kennedy International Airport is the aerial gateway to
New York, a world metropolis. It is located 24 kilometers southeast of midtown
Manhattan. After opening as an international airport in 1948, it became the huge
airport that it is today after undergoing repeated remodeling and expansion in
order to meet increased foreign airline traffic. The airport has eight separate
terminals. Inter-terminal connections can be made by Airtrain. Most foreign flights
bound for the New York area arrive at either John F. Kennedy International Airport
or Newark International Airport. There is also LaGuardia Airport which is primarily
for domestic US flights. |
