New York Area: Yakitori East
This restaurant specializes in “Yakitori”
(Skewered Grilled Chicken)
One of a New Yorker’s favorite Japanese
restaurants is Yakitori East located on 44th
Street on the east side of Manhattan. Opened 20
years ago as the very first Yakitori bar in New
York City, it has accumulated many non-Japanese
fans by offering over 40 different kinds of Yakitori,
a sushi bar. The “Izakaya” (Japanese
pub) atmosphere makes it easy to enjoy “Shochu”
(Japanese Vodka) and Sake. Prices are reasonable
especially on Tuesdays where they offer a discount
of 50% on their Yakitori, and Thursdays are Salmon
Day.
