At the Departure Airport

Maternity Mark tags

We hand out ANA original "Maternity Mark" tags to expectant mothers.
For those who need a tag, please let us know at ANA airport counter in Japan.

Airport Support Reservation required via telephone  72 hours prior to departure

To make a reservation, please contact ANA International Reservation and Information Center.
If you are a expectant mother traveling alone, our airport staff will escort you from the airport check-in counter to the boarding gate.
(Passengers who are eligible to enter the lounge will be escorted from the check-in counter to the lounge.)

Seat Reservation Pre-assigning seats accepted

Seats can be pre-assigned either online or by telephone.
Expectant mothers who are expecting delivery in less than 28 days cannot be seated near emergency exits for security reasons.

We may not always be able to honor your seat request because the number of seats is limited. Please note that your assigned seat may change due to a change in aircraft or other reasons. See “Conditions” below for further details.

At the Connecting or Arrival Airport

If you are a expectant mother traveling alone, our airport staff will gladly assist you at the airport.
To make a reservation, please contact ANA International Reservation and Information Center.


<Passengers who have connecting flights>
Airport staff will escort passengers from the check-in counter to the boarding gate. (If the connecting flight will depart from a different terminal, airport staff will escort them to the shuttle bus area.)
<At the arrival airport>
Airport staff will escort passengers from the disembarking gate to the arrival lobby or passenger pick-up area.

Conditions

We restrict travel for expectant mothers whose baby is expected within 28 days of delivery (including that expected delivery date).

Ex)Expected date of birth: Apr,30th.

* Passengers expecting confinement within 7 days (Including expected delivery date):
Medical information form is required.
Passenger must be accompanied by a physician.

* Passengers expecting confinement within 28 days to 8 days (Including expected delivery date):
Medical information form is required.

  • ・The medical information form is to indicate that the pregnancy is not complicated, and passenger is in good health for air travel and expected date of delivery.
    It must be issued by a physician no more than seven days (including the day of departure) prior to departure. The medical information form will be accepted even if it is not ANA's prescribed form.
  • ・Passengers expecting confinement within 28 days may accompany only 1 infant. In cases where a mother is accompanying other infant(s)/child(ren), a ticket needs to be purchased and he or she needs to sit by him/herself using a child seat.(You will be directed to the ANA Japan Domestic homepage)
  • ・Pregnant passengers may not be allowed to travel if the flight might change the destination due to weather conditions, etc. or if the conditions may be considered to effect on the passenger's health during the flight.

You can download ANA's Medical Information Form in advance. Download the form and print it out. After filling it in, bring it to the check-in counter at the airport on the departure date.

Notice for seat reservation

  • ・The number of pre-assignable seats is limited. A seat can only be assigned on departure if the requested seat is not available for pre-assignment.
  • ・Seats available for advance seat reservation may differ depending on ANA Premium member status or booking class. Please check ANA Sky Web for the latest seat map as available seats may differ.
  • ・Please note that ANA usually withholds a percentage of seats for passengers who need special assistance at the time of boarding and during the flight.
    If passengers are unable to pre-assign a seat at the time of booking, they may have a seat assigned when they check in for their flight.
  • ・In accordance with a directive issued by the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, for the safety of all passengers, emergency exit row seats will be limited to passengers that satisfy all the conditions below.
  • 1. 15 years of age or above
  • 2. Not accompanying children under 12 years of age
  • 3. Do not require the assistance of an escort or staff
  • 4. Is capable of assisting in an emergency evacuation, such as opening or closing an aircraft door
  • 5. Can understand evacuation procedures and crew's instructions, and can verbally convey such information to other passengers
  • 6. Can communicate in Japanese or English
  • 7. Do not have to assist an accompanying passenger in an emergency evacuation

[Notes]

  • 1. Passengers who do not meet all the conditions above may be requested to change seat.
  • 2. Passengers seated in emergency exit row seats must store all belongings in the overhead compartment.
  • 3. Passengers seated in emergency exit row seats will be requested to assist during an emergency evacuation under instructions of cabin crew.
