Japan domestic flights connecting to/from international flights

International baggage rule may apply to the passengers boarding Japan domestic flights with the ticket including international flights.

Excess charge will be summed up if the baggage is applicable for different types of charges.

[Applicable Currency & Fees]

The applicable currency and fees will depend on your itinerary, which flight sectors you will check baggage for, and airport where you will make payment.

  • ●when paying in Japan: the set amount in Japanese Yen (JPY)
  • ●when paying in the United States: the set amount in US Dollars (USD)
  • ●when paying in Canada: the set amount in Canadian Dollars (CAD)
  • ●when paying in Germany or France: the set amount in Euros (EUR)
  • ●when paying in the United Kingdom: the set amount in EUR converted to British Pound Sterling (GBP)
  • ●when paying in areas other than the above: the set amount in USD converted to the local currency

[When in excess across two or more conditions]

When two or more conditions such as piece and weight, weight and size are in excess, the excess baggage charge for each condition will be added up as the total excess baggage charge amount.

The following items may not be accepted, please contact ANA International Reservation and Information Center for details prior to your travel.
(Details for restrictions of aircraft type and flight route can be found here)

  • ・Weight per piece exceeding 32kg (70lbs)
  • ・Total linear dimensions exceeding 203cm (80in.)
  • ・Total weight exceeding 100kg (220lbs)
  • *Total dimensions exceeding 292cm (115in.) or weight over 45kg (100lb.) per piece will not be accepted as check in baggage. Please contact cargo agent when bulky baggage is over above items.
  • *In accordance with British Airport Authority(BAA) order, passengers traveling from London Heathrow Airport should note that your checked baggage cannot exceed 32kg per piece. Passengers are required to pack your baggage not to exceed 32kg(70lbs) per piece before check-in.

Sports Equipment
A musical instrument or one piece of sports equipment will be considered as one piece of checked baggage.
If the baggage excesses the free baggage allowance, it will be subject to the applicable excess baggage charge. However, excess baggage charge for size will not apply to musical instruments or sports equipment up to 203cm(80in.) as long as it is within your free baggage allowance. Musical instruments or sports equipment up to 203cm (80in.) will not be applied excess baggage charge for size over. Please click here for excess baggage charge table.
Even if your bulky baggage such as musical instrument or sports equipment is within the free baggage allowance, your baggage may not be accepted for airport facility condition or aircraft type.
Please contact ANA International Reservation and Information Center in advance.
Valuables, Fragile Items
  1. (1) The following valuables will not be accepted as checked baggage.
    cash · jewelry · precious metals · securities · works of art · antiques · business documents · electronic data · computers (personal computers etc.) and computer accessories · cameras · digital cameras · video cameras · mobile phones · passport or ID cards · product samples · credit cards · cash vouchers · bankbooks · checks · commuter passes · keys · watches · relics · medicine etc.
  2. (2) ANA will not be liable for any damage to the following fragile items, if and to the extent that the damage resulted from the inherent defect, quality or vice of the item.
    musical instruments · sports equipment (surfboard · windsurfing gear · scuba gear · bicycle etc.) · china · glass · liquor etc.
  3. (3) ANA will not be liable for any damage or loss as mentioned below.
    - damage to baggage from overweight or over-packing
    - damage caused by defects in the baggage itself such as from normal wear or tear, loss or damage to protruding parts such as detachable wheels · straps · hooks · name tags · belts or other attached items
    - minor damage such as scratches · scuffs · dents · cuts · dirt
    - damage caused by TSA (Transportation Security Administration) Inspection

Your pet will be carried in the cargo section, which is located underneath the passenger cabin. Disabled passengers accompanied by dogs, such as seeing-eye dogs or hearing-ear dogs, are able to travel together under animals in cabin service. As for itineraries including codeshare flights and flights operated by other airlines, the baggage rule of the other airline may apply under IATA rule or U.S. laws and will differ from itinerary flight operated by ANA.

Details for restrictions of aircraft type and flight route

  • * Due to space limitation on B737-700ER for Narita=Mumbai flight, if baggage cannot be accepted as check-in, it will be loaded as carry-on baggage.
  • * Even if your baggage total dimensions are within 292cm(115in), it may not be accepted following aircrafts
  • * According to the load condition of other checked in baggage, we may not accepted your bulky baggage.
