- linking new Mt Fuji Shizuoka Airport, in Japan’s centre, to Incheon -
TOKYO May 20, 2009 - Asiana and ANA will commence a code-sharing agreement on Asiana’s new daily service between Mount Fuji Shizuoka Airport and Incheon Airport in Seoul, when the former opens for operations on June 4 this year. ANA will place its NH flight code on the Asiana flight, which will operate using a 177 seat Airbus A321 aircraft in a two-class configuration of 12 business and 165 economy class seats.
Details of the new service are as follows:
ANA and Asiana expanded their code-share agreement to include all routes between Japan and Korea from 2007, as part of a strategic alliance. This latest development brings the total number of weekly code-sharing flights between Japan and Korea to 206 on 21 routes (164 Asiana, 42 ANA), as of June 4, 2009.
ANA and Asiana are members of Star Alliance, meaning that Asiana Club members and ANA Mileage Club (AMC) members are able to accrue and redeem mileage on the flights of both airlines, including code-sharing flights. In addition, they may also access other benefits, including lounges worldwide, depending on status and class of travel.
