2. Boarding procedures for the higher class can be performed with your pre-purchased ticket on the boarding date.
[Application period]
* Please apply no earlier than 56 days prior to your flight (the same day of the week 8 weeks prior to the flight) and no later than 24 hours prior to departure.
■Confirm the details of your application with the airline that you will take.
Changes
To change the details of your application, contact the airline that you will take before departure of the reserved flight. Please note that when you cancel your Star Alliance Upgrade Award, not only the upgrade, but also the original (lower class) reservation will be canceled.

Canceling the upgrade only
→You cannot cancel the Upgrade only. When a Star Alliance Upgrade Award is canceled, not only the upgrade, but also the original (lower class) reservation will be canceled.

Changing an itinerary
* After making a new reservation in the original class, apply again for a Star Alliance Upgrade Award via the Internet by 24 hours prior to departure.
* To cancel an unused Star Alliance Upgrade Award, cancel with above procedure before the departure of the reserved flight. Redeemed Mileage for the Awards will be refunded with no deduction of mileage refund fee only when cancellation is made before the departure of the flight (same as with the unused mile refund service for ANA International Upgrade Awards). However, miles expired at the time of the refund will not be returned. Also, please note that miles will not be refunded if the reservation is not canceled before departure of the reserved flight.
Waitlisting
Please note that waitlisting and upgrade at the airport on the departure date are not offered.
Notes
* If there were any seat specifications or special services (wheel chair, special meals, etc.) requested for the original reservation, please contact the operating airline and request the services again after applying for the Star Alliance Upgrade Award. Requests from the customer will not be passed on when the boarding class is changed.
* The original reservation for the lower class will be automatically canceled when the upgrade is confirmed.
* Up to 4 people can upgrade for each application.
* No upgrade ticket or reservation number will be issued, even after completing the procedure of an upgrade award.
 
Note

Information on U.K. Air Passenger Duty / French Air Passenger Solidarity Tax
The amount of the following duty and tax differ according to each boarding class. Upgrade Awards acquired with mileage are subject for payment. Please note that the balance of the duty based on boarding class will be collected at the airport even for tickets that have already been issued.

U.K. Air Passenger Duty: Passengers departing from any airport in the United Kingdom are subject.
French Air Passenger Solidarity Tax: Passengers departing from any airport in France are subject to this.
