What is a foreign transaction fee? |
|---|
Foreign transaction fees are fees which occur in cases where the cardholder's currency of payment differs from that of the website's billing currency (using VISA or MasterCard as a form of payment on ANA SKY WEB). These fees may be collected from the card issuer and for details, please contact the card issuer directly. In addition, please be forewarned that this fee is not eligible in the case of a ticket refund. *For the Korea website, foreign transaction fees might be charged, even when making payment with a Korean Won card. |
When can exchange gains or losses occur? |
|---|
When purchasing a ticket through ANA SKY WEB, payment is made in the currency of the departure country. If the currency of the departing country differs from that of the currency of the cardholder's payment account, an exchange gain or loss may occur. *For the Korea website, foreign transaction fees might be charged, even when making payment with a Korean Won card. *Please be advised that an exchange gain or loss may occur in some instances when refunding a ticket (including refunds for totally unused tickets) other than through the Internet (other than the Japan, U.S., Mexico and England website) for tickets purchased when using an American Express card. |
What is the difference between a credit card and a debit card? |
|---|
Credit cards are structured so that the card company temporarily makes the payment for the purchase amount, and then deducts that amount from the credit cardholder's account at a later date. In contrast, debit cards are those of which the purchase amount is directly withdrawn from the debit cardholder's account immediately and only funds available in the account can be used to make a purchase. |
Can payments be made with a credit card whose cardholder is other than the passenger him/herself (third party)? |
|---|
Credit card payment using a third-party's card is accepted.
However, only VISA and MasterCard are accepted. |
When making a payment using a card issued in China, are my funds are being held in double? |
|---|
When you make a payment with a credit card issued in China, there may be times when the funds (credit) will be placed on hold not only from the bank account in China, but from the US dollar based account as well. (Example)
Funds placed on hold in the US dollar based account will be released on the day of settlement. Since the actual settlement will be made from the Chinese Yuan based account, please be assured that the funds will not be withdrawn twice. However, keep in mind that this can impact other settlements until the funds are released. For those in a hurry and/or encountering any difficulties with the release of funds, please contact ANA China Customer Service Center. Please note that depending on factors such as the issuing bank, it may take some time to release the funds. |
