In Pursuit of Incomparable Levels of Service
The 4th Annual Flight Attendant OMOTENASHI Master Contest
Following the ANA TELEMART Communications Skills Competition, we will now report on the OMOTENASHI Master Contest - the second in the series of ANA Group competitions through which customer-facing staff across the Group show off their communication skills and learn from each other. Omotenashi is the distinctly Japanese way of hospitality which anticipates the guest’s needs, for an experience that goes beyond normal expectations.

At the fourth annual competition, the fifteen Team Division and Individual Division finalists selected from approximately 7,800 flight attendants displayed their OMOTENASHI skills. The Individual Division was further divided into the Freshers Group of those who have been flight attendants at the company for four years or less, and the Expertise Group of those who have five or more years of experience.
The winner of the Team Division was the Kore-ANA FIRSTCLASS team. This Korea-based team impressed the judges with their Japanese fluency in attending to customers, and accuracy of their customer services.

Lertsiriworaphong Kraipit from Thailand, the Land of Smiles, took first place in the Freshers Group with his warm smile. Mr. Kraipit shared with us that, “I’d like to represent the flight attendants based in Bangkok and will continue to work hard to be a role model for those who have joined after me.”
Kumiko Kamino placed first in the Expertise Group. Ms. Kamino, who has been with ANA for thirty years, says she always tries to approach her customers with warmth and kindness.

This time, flight attendants based outside of Japan won two out of three categories in this competition. It marks a step in our continuing efforts to offer compassionate OMOTENASHI to each one of our customers as we aim to be one of the world’s leading global airlines.
