Pre-entry COVID-19 test no longer required for Canada entry from 4/1

The Canadian government announced that effective April 1, 2022, fully vaccinated travelers will no longer need to provide a pre-entry COVID-19 test result to enter Canada by air, land, or water. Mandatory random testing upon arrival will be in place but those awaiting their test result are not required to quarantine. Partially or unvaccinated travelers will still need to meet pre-entry testing requirements.

Requirements for unvaccinated passengers remain unchanged. Unvaccinated international passengers who can enter Canada will continue to be tested upon arrival and stay at the designated quarantine facility while waiting for results, test again on day 8, and be required to quarantine at a suitable location.

All travelers continue to be required to submit their mandatory information in ArriveCAN before their arrival in Canada. Travelers who arrive without completing their ArriveCAN submission may have to test on arrival and quarantine for 14 days, regardless of their vaccination status.
