Basic Policy

ANA X Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) handles your personal information with the utmost care, as we consider your personal information is very important. The Company provides adequate education to its executives and employees on the Act on the Protection of Personal information (hereinafter referred to as the “Personal Information Protection Act”), other relevant laws and regulations, various guidelines, and internal regulations. At the same time, the Company enhances its internal structure, including security measures, while making efforts to manage personal information appropriately and making the best efforts to ensure the appropriate use thereof.

Handling of personal information

The Company will collect and use your personal information by appropriate and legitimate means within the scope necessary. The Company may change the purposes of use of personal information within the scope that is reasonably deemed as being related to its original purposes. 1. Personal information to be collected

The Company may collect and use your personal information listed below for the purposes described in “2. Purposes of use of personal information.”

  • Information that you provide to the Company to use or purchase the Company’s products and services such as your name, date of birth, address, telephone number and email address, credit card information, debit card information, bank account information and information related to transactions (including non-public financial information handled by bank agency services, etc.)
  • Details of any inquiries to the Company, usage history of the Company’s website/application, etc. and related information
  • Your ANA Mileage Club membership number, type of membership card, member service qualification, membership area, mileage status, credit card number and expiration date, flight reservation/cancellation information, usage history of boarding/services, etc.

2. Purposes of use of personal information

Personal information the Company collects may be used for the following purposes:

  • To take contractual procedures for services and products;
  • To provide or maintain products and services and to communicate and provide information on support in connection therewith;
  • To give information on services, products and campaigns;
  • To conduct questionnaires on services and products;
  • To conduct marketing activities, research and analyses on services and products;
  • To develop new services and products to be offered;
  • To distribute or display advertisements of the Company and partner companies;
  • To address any conduct that breaches laws and regulations or contracts or to resolve any issues;
  • To handle inquiries and requests; and
  • To provide bank agency services and other financial services smoothly and appropriately.

*In addition to the purposes described above, personal information may be used for the purposes described in “4. Sharing of personal information.”

3. Disclosure or provision to third parties

The Company shall not disclose or provide your personal information to any third party without your prior consent, unless otherwise disclosure thereof is permitted by the Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws and regulations. Please note that the entrustment of such information is not deemed to constitute disclosure or provision to third parties.

4. Sharing of personal information

The Company may share your personal information as follows.

1. Purposes of sharing

  • For provision of air transportation services, travel services including tours and hotels, and other products and services handled by the Company or entities that share personal information with the Company
  • For sending of direct mail and information on products and services and implementation of questionnaires to customers, etc. by the Company or entities that share personal information with the Company
  • For sales analysis and other research and studies, and development of new products and services, etc. by the Company or entities that share personal information with the Company
  • For communication and transfer to appropriate entities of inquiries, application for use or other requests on products and services that you make to the Company
  • For appropriate and smooth fulfillment of other transactions with customers by the Company or entities that share personal information with the Company
  • For business management and internal management by the ANA Group

5. Sensitive information

The Company will never collect information of a sensitive nature to you, such as race and beliefs, without your consent, unless otherwise permitted by applicable laws and regulations.

6. Method of collecting personal information

The Company will collect personal information from ANA Group companies and partner companies in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws and regulations.

7. Entrustment of personal information

The Company may entrust an outside party with the handling of personal information for the purpose of providing better services. In such case, the Company will select a party that is deemed to handle personal information appropriately. At the same time, in order to prevent your personal information from being divulged, the Company ensures, through contracts, that the party manages personal information appropriately.

8. Transfer to outside of Japan

If the Company provides your personal information to third party business operators outside of Japan, including entrustees and business partners that share such data with the Company, the Company will take necessary and appropriate steps in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

9. Protection and management of personal information

The Company will comply with the Personal Information Protection Act as well as laws and regulations and other rules related to the protection of personal information. Furthermore, the Company will strive to educate and enlighten each employee in order to raise awareness of protecting personal information.
Under the supervision of the person who promotes protecting customer information, the Company will manage your personal information appropriately, while taking the utmost care to prevent it from being leaked outside the Company.
In order to address risks of divulgation, falsification, loss, and damage of or unauthorized external access to personal information handled by the Company, the Company will take adequate security measures by, for example, establishing personal information handling rules for the secure management thereof and a system of implementing such rules, etc. In addition, the Company will strive to make continual reviews of the aforementioned system and measures related to protecting personal information for further improvement.

10. Ensuring the security and accuracy of personal data

The Company will take appropriate measures to keep the personal data it handles secure, accurate, and up-to-date.

11. Requests related to the handling of personal information

In respect of personal data the Company maintains, if you request in a predetermined way the Company to notify the purpose of use, disclose, correct/delete/add, suspend/cease to use, or suspend provision to third parties (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Disclosure, etc.” ) in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act, the Company will respond to any of these requests after having verified the identification of the individual making the request, within a reasonable period and to a reasonable extent as described below.

    The Company will notify you of the purposes of use of personal information in accordance with your request.
  • Request for disclosure
    The Company will disclose personal information items in accordance with your request.
  • Request for correction, deletion or addition

  • Request for ceasing of use, elimination or suspension of provision to third parties

In accordance with your request, the Company will cease to use of or eliminate the items of personal information specified by you, or suspend the provision thereof to third parties.
Please note that the ceasing of use, elimination, or suspension of provision to third parties may make the Company unable to offer services that had been available to you, or offer the services that meet your requests. Please be aware of it before you make such request.
Please note that the Company may not be able to respond as requested if (i) there is a risk that your life, health, or property or those of any third party will be harmed, (ii) the Company’s business will be adversely affected significantly, or (iii) other laws and regulations will be breached. The Company may charge you fees for your Disclosure, etc. request.

Use of cookies

The Company uses cookies on its website for collecting information regarding logging into the Company’s services and products, maintaining log-in status, personalizing information on the page for customers, configuring the top page and registering various campaigns. The Company may collect and analyze your browsing history to improve its website, enhance contents and promote services.

A web beacon is a mechanism that embeds a small, invisible graphic image (1×1 pixel GIF image) into a web page or an email in HTML format to compile information on the behavior of customers accessing emails. With this technology, the Company collects browsing information when you open emails, display messages in preview, and access web pages via emails.
