In the city of Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture, you can enjoy picking fruits in any season. Come and pick the fruits of each season, such as grapes and strawberries. The area is one where grape cultivation first started in Japan. Many varieties are grown, such as Pione and Rosario Bianco. You can also enjoy picking Amao strawberries, nashi pears, persimmons, mandarins, and other fruits at almost any time of the year.

There are 120 grape growers in the town of Tanushimaru-machi in Kurume, 50 of which are tourist vineyards that offer grape picking experiences. Admission is free and you can even taste the grapes. In recent times, there has been an increase in the number of different grape varieties being grown in the area, including Pione and Rosario Bianco.

You can enjoy picking fruit in all four seasons in Kurume, including Amao, the king of strawberries that has its roots in Kurume, figs, blueberries, nashi pears, persimmons, and mandarins.
