Electronic Devices Containing Lithium Batteries
Thank you for your continued patronage of ANA.
Lithium battery-powered portable electronic devices have a risk of unexpectedly catching fire. In response to this issue, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has made the implementation of safety measures for the air transportation of such devices in the cargo cabin mandatory from July 1, 2017.
Take the measures below for checking in electronic devices containing lithium batteries as checked baggage.
- ・ Turn off the device’s power. (The device cannot be checked in while set to Sleep Mode.)
- ・ Put the device inside a rigid suitcase or wrap it with clothes to prevent damage to the device.
Note: This should be done for the purpose of preventing ignition due to inadvertent operation or damage.
We ask for your kind understanding and cooperation to ensure the safety of flights.
