Heidi's Swing

"Tastes of JAPAN by ANA" is a regional vitalization project that collaborates with the different prefectures in Japan to present the Land of the Rising Sun in all of its diverse glory.

The place known as "Heidi's Swing" on Mount Kirikabu in Kusu district, Oita, is recommend as a leisure spot! Enjoy the view from the "Observatory Rest Building" designed by industrial designer Mr. Eiji Mitooka, and meals, etc. at the 'Mori Food Truck'.

The summit can be reached by car, so you can easily go there just like going on a picnic. A legend that it was made by a giant who knocked down a massive Kusuno-ki (camphor tree) remains on Mount Kirikabu. As its name suggests, the flat mountain top provides a view of the beautiful streets of Kusu.

On the top of the mountain there is a giant swing known as "Heidi's Swing." With a height of 4.5m, the swing will make you feel like you're floating on air. Enjoyment for children and adults alike.

Designed by industrial designer Mr. Eiji Mitooka, as its name suggests, it's built on the summit of Mount Kirikabu overlooking the town. Glass walls provide panoramic views, such as the town spread out before your eyes and the mountains on the other side as well as the trains running east to west and the former Bungo Mori Roundhouse.
