ANA Airport Service (ANAAS) held a on-site art workshop "DEKAKE Lab.@HANEDA" prior to the commemorative gift distribution event held on December 5, 2024.
On October 2, 2024, the on-site art workshop "DEKAKE Lab. at HANEDA" was held at the ANAAS office. On this day, with the cooperation of Cross Team (Cross Company, Inc.), which promotes social participation of people with disabilities through "co-creation" with professionals, 12 participants from welfare facilities for people with disabilities in Ota-ku, Tokyo (member facilities of Ohmusubi Liaison Association*), gathered in a meeting room at Haneda Airport to create many art works with paints. During the workshop, participants and ANAAS employees worked together to paint their own designs using paint on brushes and rollers.
These works were showcased on the wall of FLIGHT DECK TOKYO, located on the 5th floor of Haneda Airport Terminal 2, for the enjoyment of airport visitors.
Exhibition period: November 22, 2024 - December 4, 2024
About two months after this workshop, ANAAS created a "wet wipe lid" incorporating artwork created by the professional designers of the Cross Team and the participants. This design is based on the image of "sky" and "diverse connections," reflecting ANA's character. The product can be used repeatedly, hoping it will add a bit of color to your daily life.
These "wet wipe lids" were distributed to passengers as a commemorative gift at the boarding gate of NH853 flight from Haneda Airport to Taipei Songshan Airport on December 5, 2024. The aircraft on NH853 that day was a special livery, "ANA Future Promise Jet". On this plane, the flight attendants wear original aprons featuring artwork created by people with disabilities and professional designers from the Cross Team.
We interviewed Ms. Miura of the ANAAS General Affairs Department, who was involved in the organization of the "DEKAKE Lab. at HANEDA" art workshop and the planning of the production and distribution of commemorative gifts.
ANAAS has always been committed to social contribution activities. We have been trying to interact with local residents through participation in cleanup activities and various events. This time, we had a chance to meet people from a welfare facility for people with disabilities in Ota-ku, and by holding a workshop together, we hoped to deepen exchanges, experience the power of "co-creation," and develop a culture that appreciates diversity.
In parallel, we are also purchasing artworks created through "co-creation" between "Challenged Designer®," an artist with disabilities belonging to the Cross Team, and professional designers, and installing donated vending machines with the same design as the purchased artwork. In conjunction with this event, we will promote the creation of an environment within the company that encourages employees to share in the realization of a symbiotic society and to be actively involved in supporting such a society.
We believe it is important to continue such efforts, even if they are small. In addition to holding events, we would like to expand our donation activities, and implement initiatives to encourage more employees to participate, such as by publicly soliciting ideas from employees on what to implement.
The ANA Group will continue to contribute to the realization of a symbiotic society that respects diversity.
