Towards the blue sky and beyond: 「ANA FLY ECO 2020」

In the fiscal year 2012, the ANA Group launched the medium-to-long-term environmental plan 「ANA FLY ECO 2020」 with the aim of becoming one of the world's leading eco-friendly airlines by 2020.With the reduction of CO2 emissions from aviation fuel as a mainstay of the measures against global warming, 「ANA FLY ECO 2020」 aims to reduce CO2 emissions (the total of domestic and international routes) by 20% per revenue ton kilometer by the end of 2020 (compared to 2005 levels) and strives for regular cleaning of the aircraft systems and the engines as well as for the continuous reduction of the weight of materials used in the airplane.Furthermore, as part of our environmental and social contribution activities, volunteers are engaged in tree planting activities in Minamisanriku (Miyagi Prefecture), and the restoration of severely damaged corals in Onnason (Okinawa Prefecture) together with the local population.

~Thinking about the global environment from a sky-high perspective: 「e-flight2013」~

One part of ANA FLY ECO 2020 was the implementation of 「e-flight」 in March 2013 with a view to providing opportunities to think about our global environment together with our passengers.During 「e-flight2013」, original goods manufactured by local people using thinned wood from the 「ANA Kokoro no mori」forest in Minamisanriku (Miyagi Prefecture) were sold in-flight as carbon offset products. Furthermore, 「Support miles for the environment」were established to provide passengers with the opportunity to participate in environmental preservation activities by spending their miles.Even though the campaign only lasted for a short period of time, it attracted a high level of passenger participation. We would like to extend a warm thank you to all the passengers who contributed to this campaign.
