ANA PILOTS' UNION STRIKE CONTINUES


FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TOKYO-14 April 1998 All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. (ANA)has been notified by its pilots' union, All Nippon Airways Crew Association (ACA)--composed of 1,380 pilots and flight engineers--that it will take strike action commencing from 6 April.
ANA deeply regrets the inconvenience caused by the continuing pilots' union strike affecting many customers. There have been 54 flight cancellations affecting 10,600 people until today.

ANA's international services to be further affected by the strike are as follows:

1. Strike Action:
Pilots have begun strike, targeting B747-400 international flights commencing at one minute after midnight on 6 April.
The strike threat will be continued until further notice.
2. Affected Flights:
APR18 (SAT) 6 cancellations out of 46 normal operations, affecting 1,200 people
NH 002 (Narita~Washington D.C.) NH 001 (Washington D.C.~Narita)
NH 205 (Narita~Paris) NH 206 (Paris~Narita)
NH 1221 (Kansai~London) NH 1222 (London~Kansai)

APR 19 (SUN) 8 cancellations out of 50 normal operations, affecting 2,100 people
NH 010 (Narita~New York) NH 009 (New York~Narita)
NH 201 (Narita~London) NH 202 (London~Narita)
NH 006 (Narita~Los Angeles) NH 005 (Los Angeles~Narita)
NH 1217 (Kansai~Rome via Frankfurt) NH 1212 (Rome~Kansai )

APR 20 (MON) 6 cancellations out of 42 normal operations, affecting 1,500 people
NH 002 (Narita~Washington D.C.) NH 001 (Washington D.C.~Narita)
NH 205 (Narita~Paris) NH 206 (Paris~Narita)
NH 1221 (Kansai~London) NH 1222 (London~Kansai )

The total number of flights cancelled will be 94, affecting 20,100 passengers if the strike continues until APR 20.

If pilots continue to take strike action after APR 21, more passengers will be affected.
No domestic flights will be affected by the strike until APR 20.
