ANA Seeks Code Share with United Airlines - Application Filed with Ministry of Transport - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TOKYO-2 October 1998 All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. (ANA) ,applied today to the Ministry of Transportation for code-share operations with U.S. carrier, United Airlines. Code-share operations between the two airlines on Trans-Pacific and connecting domestic flights are planned to begin 25 October. Code-share operations would initially cover a total of 20 routes, representing 185 round-trip flights per week. Cooperation on Frequent-Flier Programs will also begin on 25 October. ANA and United Airlines signed a code-share agreement on 21 April of this year. For both airlines, code-sharing will allow them to significantly expand their networks, offering customers travelling between U.S. and Japanese destinations better access and enhanced convenience.
