ANA, Air Canada to Begin Code-share Services
Between Tokyo and Toronto

22 March, 2000 - All Nippon Airways and Air Canada announced plans to begin non-stop code-share service between Tokyo and Toronto from April 3. The new service, Air Canadas first out of Tokyos Narita airport, will be operated with Air Canadas 284-seat Airbus 340 aircraft, starting with five flights per week and increasing to daily service from April 25.*

ANA and Air Canada first began code-sharing in 1996 on Air Canadas Osaka-Vancouver route. With the new non-stop service between the two business centers of Tokyo and Toronto, ANA and Air Canada look forward to supporting increased economic and cultural interaction by providing customers with enhanced travel connections between Japan and Canada.

In addition to existing code-share services between Osaka and Vancouver, ANA and Air Canada share joint frequent flyer programs as members of Star Alliance, the worlds leading airline alliance. Both carriers look forward to further expanding their network between Japan and Canada in the future.

*All code-share agreements subject to final government approval.
