ANA Orders Two Additional Bombardier Q400s

Tokyo February 4, 2004 - The ANA Group has ordered two Q400 turboprop aircraft from Bombardier Aerospace of Canada for use on short haul domestic routes from Osaka’s Itami Airport. ANA previously ordered six of the aircraft, the first of which went into service on the Osaka-Kochi route in November 2003.

The 74-seat aircraft will be powered by Pratt and Whitney PW150A engines. The turboprop aircraft will replace jet-operated services on the Osaka-Kochi route, and increase the number of flights per day, providing greater passenger convenience.

“ The increased use of turboprops on local routes forms part of our strategy to use the aircraft best suited to demand and route, and provide the frequency of service that passengers want,” said V.P. Marketing Shinichiro Ito. “The Q400 is a perfect fit for our regional passenger and network needs, and provides the highest levels of safety and security, while being very efficient and economical to operate.”
