| Golden Week Holiday Passenger Traffic Forecast
|
TOKYO, April 21, 2005-ANA Group is forecasting increased passenger numbers for this year’s Golden Week holiday period, which falls from Thursday, April 28 to Sunday, May 8. Domestic reservations are up two percentage points, and international reservations by seven percentage points compared with Golden Week of the previous year. Despite fewer available seats on domestic routes due to aircraft downsizing, reservations are higher than last year, a fact attributed in part to the opening of the new Haneda Terminal 2 in December last year, and Central Japan International Airport in Nagoya, in February this year. Internationally, reservations and available seats are up year-on-year. European and North American destinations are particularly popular this year, aided by the favorable days of the week on which the holidays fall. Golden Week is one of Japan’s most famous holiday periods and encompasses a series of four national holidays: Green Day, Constitution Day, Citizen’s Day and Children’s Day. ANA Group consists of the following six airlines: ANA (All Nippon Airways), Air Nippon (ANK), Air Japan (AJX), Air Nippon Network (A-Net), Air Hokkaido (ADK) and Air Central (CRF). |
