ANA Strategic Research Institute Joins ANA Group Line-up

TOKYO April 5, 2006 - ANA Strategic Research Institute Co Ltd became the latest member of the ANA Group of companies on April 3 this year. Previously a department within ANA, the main airline within the Group, its remit was to develop intellectual property for the Group, and explore ways of better facilitating intra-Group communications.

It was incorporated as a separate company on April 3 this year to allow it greater autonomy in the development of ideas for new products, strategy and business models across ANA Group as a whole, especially the air transport companies. In particular, its mission is to explore and nurture possible new systems and structures for the Group beyond 2010 in terms of internal corporate culture and also the public face of the Group. It will also research new ways of heightening customer satisfaction for the Group.

ANA Strategic Research Institute will be headed by President and CEO Kenichiro Hamada. Its functions will primarily be divided between two departments: a Strategic Studies and Planning Department, and a Research and Development Department that will also examine human resource development.

In detail, its activities will include:

1) Research into the aviation industry, and future trends
2) Political, economic, cultural, sociological, scientific research and future trends
