TOKYO August 21, 2006 - ANA Group airlines carried over 1.6 million passengers during the Obon* summer holiday period from August 11 to August 20 this year (inclusive).
On a Group basis, this can be broken down into 1.52 million domestic and approximately 142,700 international passengers for the period. Compared with the previous year there was little change in domestic passengers carried, evidenced by a 0.6% percentage point increase. Load factors on domestic routes were 73%, with capacity in terms of the number of available seats increasing 0.5% percentage points. The southernmost island of Okinawa proved most popular in terms of growth, at 5.4%, followed by the northernmost island of Hokkaido at 3.2%.
ANA carried the largest number of international passenger in its history for the Obon period. The entire network performed well, led by flights to Europe, North America and resort destinations with load factors in excess of 90%. Overall, international passenger numbers for the period rose by almost 10%. |
