STAR ALLIANCE ANNOUNCES SPECIAL ROUND THE WORLD ECONOMY FARES TO MARK 10^th ANNIVERSARY

FRANKFURT, Germany - July 16^th, 2007- Customers can purchase Round the World tickets for less with Star Alliance’s special 10^th Anniversary Round the World Economy fares. As part of its anniversary activities, Star Alliance is offering a 10 per cent reduction on all Economy Class Round the World tickets purchased between August 1^st, 2007 and September 30^th, 2007.

Using the Star Alliance Round the World fares, customers can build their own itineraries to circumnavigate the globe by either going east or west, flying on any of the 16,000 daily flights to 855 destinations in 155 countries offered by the 17 member airlines. Three different fare levels are available covering routings of up to 29,000 miles, 34,000 miles and 39,000 miles and allowing customers to visit between three and 15 different destinations. A fare for journeys of up to 26,000 miles and permitting three to five stopovers is also offered.

The special 10 per cent discount for the months of August and September is reflected in the fares displayed in the computer reservation systems for these dates. Tickets can be booked and purchased through travel agents or through any of the 17 member airlines.

For planning their journeys, customers can make use of the Star Alliance Round the World Calculator, an online tool available on the Star Alliance website: www.staralliance.com/rtwmc.
The Round the World Mileage Calculator allows customers or travel agents to build complete Round the World itineraries online, corresponding to the applicable fare rules. Once the full trip has been planned, it can be transmitted to a reservations office of one of the member carriers, be printed and faxed to a travel agent for booking and ticketing or simply be saved on the computer for future use.

Star Alliance also offers Round the World Fares in First Class or Business Class. These are bookable at their normal levels and will not be discounted as part of the 10^th Anniversary promotion.
