Rail Services within Europe

Customers flying with ANA between Japan and Europe can travel part of their itinerary using rail sectors.
Available rail services are indicated below.
*This service may not be available on some fares and is based on seat availability.


Deutsche Bahn (DB) Rail Services

Lufthansa Express Rail Service / Rail&Fly Service

Customers who use ANA international flights between Japan and Europe can also purchase tickets for connecting Deutsche Bahn (DB) rail sectors without paying any additional service charges when purchasing their flight tickets from ANA.
Lufthansa Express Rail Service*1, and DB Rail&Fly service are available.

*1 Some Lufthansa Express Rail destinations may require an additional charge.

Lufthansa Express Rail Service

  • ・This is a service provided by ANA's joint venture partner Lufthansa(LH).

All routes operated with flights which have LH flight numbers. Please refer to the Lufthansa Express Rail Service page for details.

Train tickets which will act as a boarding pass are required to be issued prior to boarding. Tickets can be issued from 23 hours to 15 minutes before the train departs, by online or mobile check-in via LH website.

Boarding Procedures Baggage
Please use the ticket that was issued via the methods above and board the train. Please take your baggage with you to and/or off the train and collect it and/or check it in at the airport.
  • *Customers can request their seats when checking in.
  • *If a customer uses a train without a valid boarding pass or uses a train that is not on a designated Lufthansa Express Rail line, DB may charge the customer for the relevant fare at a later date.
  • *Please note that the baggage drop-off location at the airport will differ depending on whether the connection is to/from an ANA-operated flight or to/from a Lufthansa-operated flight.
  • *Please visit the Lufthansa website for further information, including when connecting from (to) a Lufthansa operated flight.

Rail&Fly Service

  • ・This service is provided by DB.
  • ・All DB routes to/from Frankfurt, Munich, and Düsseldorf and all routes between DB train stations and Frankfurt, Munich, and Düsseldorf airports.
  • All DB routes to/from Frankfurt Central Station, Munich Central Station, and Düsseldorf Central Station.
  • All routes between DB train stations and Frankfurt Airport Station, Munich Airport Station, and Düsseldorf Airport Station.
  • *If DB does not offer direct rail access to an airport, trains may be changed at the central station.
    In this case, the Rail&Fly ticket can be used between the airport station and the central station*1.
    *1 However, usage solely between airport station and central station on city and local public transport is not applicable.
  • DB Route Network

  • ・Trains on the flight's departure date or the day after the departure date. (For flights departing from Germany, trains on the day prior to the departure date can also be used.)
  • ・All DB trains.
    However, when using City Night Line (an overnight train service) and ICE Sprinter services, additional charges and advance reservations are required.
    Please inquire at a DB ticket counter in such cases.
  • ・The following trains cannot be used: Thalys high-speed trains connecting Paris, Brussels, Cologne and Amsterdam, DB motorail trains, special trains, and trains on jointly-operated lines.
  • ・If DB does not offer direct rail access to an airport, Rail&Fly tickets can be used for other local forms of public transportation. (However, Rail&Fly tickets cannot be used solely for city and local public transport)
    <Example of Acceptable Use> S-Bahn between Ost Station and Munich Central Station (for ICE connection to/from Munich Airport).

  • When reserving a flight ticket, select your desired itinerary from the seat availability search by specifying a German railway station.
  • *German railways sectors are indicated with the AccesRail carrier code (9B).
  • *Apply for the ticket at the same time when reserving an international flight ticket. The offer will not be available after the flight ticket has been purchased.

  • Respective train tickets can be purchased without paying any additional service charges on top of the published fares for flights from Japan or Germany.
  • *This service is not applicable for IATA fares, Star Alliance fares, or ANA international flight awards.
  • Information for Pickup Number
    A Pickup Number will be issued upon purchase. A unique Pickup Number is issued for each customer, as well as for both the outbound and return journeys. Please keep this number since it must be entered into a DB ticket vending machine to print the train ticket.
    The pickup number is indicated on the e-ticket under operating carrier. Please note that indicating the pickup number on the e-ticket may require some time. In this case, confirm the number later by displaying the e-ticket from the ANA website.

Train tickets can be collected up to 72 hours prior to the departure time of the relevant train.
Please be sure to print it out before boarding. No changes can be made after the ticket has been issued.

Online Ticket Collection

Please visit the AccesRail website www.accesrail.com/checkinand enter your name and flight ticket number or reservation number.

Collect the ticket at a DB train station (use a DB ticket vending machine to print it).

Ticket vending machines (labeled "Fahrkarten") are located in DB train stations. Please select Rail&Fly and enter your Pickup Number.

*If you have already collected your ticket online, the ticket vending machine will not issue a ticket.


*The train ticket is not for a reserved seat. Please find a vacant seat after boarding.
*Please note that if text is displayed on the electronic display above a seat, this means the seat is reserved.
*If you wish to reserve a seat, please purchase a ticket for a reserved seat at a DB Travel Center.

■When connecting to a DB train from a flight from Japan to Germany
Please allow at least 75 minutes after the flight's estimated arrival time to make the connection to the train.

■When connecting from a DB train to a flight from Germany to Japan
Please use a train which arrives at the airport at least 90 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the flight.
