Important Notice - Updates to entry restrictions for passengers entering Japan

Information as of 6:00JST,January 14th,2022.

The Japanese government has announced updates to the current entry restrictions.

Effective January 15, 2022 (12:00 am, Japan time), the self-quarantine period (which also prohibits the use of public transportation such as trains, buses, taxis, aircraft for domestic flights during this time) will be reduced from 14 days to 10 days for all passengers entering/returning to Japan from countries/regions (currently all) where Omicron is the dominant COVID-19 variant. This measure will also apply to those who have already entered Japan at the time this change goes into effect.

Travelers departing from states which require a stay at the accommodation facility (Japanese page) along with the health check/follow-up will continue to remain in effect until further notice.

Countries/regions where a variant other than Omicron is found to be dominant, the self-quarantine period will change to 14 days which at present, there are no designated countries/regions.
