Items Which Are Not Permitted to Be Carried on Board (International Flights)

This page contains information on the restrictions in place for all routes. For international flights, there may be restrictions according to the regulations of the country of departure. Please check the regulations of each country as well.

Notes

  • If a codeshare flight or flight operated by another airline is included in the itinerary, the baggage rules of the other airline may apply.
  • Please be advised that in the event that it is impossible to confirm whether or not an item can be transported by airplane before the departure time, the request for transport may be rejected.
  • Some countries and regions may place restrictions on the carry-on and check-in of items other than those mentioned below.

Items Which Are Not Permitted to Be Carried on Board

None of the following items are permitted to be carried on board aircraft, and this applies regardless of their type: All blades (including knives, scissors, razors, axes, billhooks, and chisels); tools, ice skates, bats, golf clubs, and other items deemed to be potential weapons; and ski waxes/sprays. (In the case of golf clubs, not even 1 wooden, iron, or putter-style golf club can be carried on board.)

  • Items resembling weapons such as toy guns are also not permitted to be carried on board.
  • Carrying items such as knives on board is a violation of the Civil Aeronautics Act, and may result in imprisonment of up to 2 years or a fine of up to JPY 1,000,000.
