When 2 Sectors Have Different Seasonalities

If the first sector of an itinerary with connecting flights has a different seasonality to the second sector, the season of the first sector's departure date of each of the outbound and inbound flights will apply.

For return itineraries, the required mileage for the outbound and inbound flight seasons will be added together.

If the 1st sector has a different seasonality to the 2nd sector, the required mileage for each seasonality will be combined.

1st sector (Tokyo-Osaka): Departs on November 25, 2018 (high season); Basic sector mileage: 280 miles
2nd sector (Osaka-Tokyo): Departs on December 23, 2018 (regular season); Basic sector mileage: 280 miles

  • The symbol "-" indicates the destination
  • STEP 1 Confirm Departure Date Seasonalities
Go to the seasonality chart to check the applicable season(s) (low, regular, high season) based on the respective departure dates for your outbound and return flights.
    November 25, 2018 = Regular Season; December 23, 2018 = High Season
  • STEP 2 Confirm Basic Sector Mileage
Go to Required Mileage Charts (1 Sectors) and check the sector mileage under Quick Summary of Required Mileage.
1st sector: 280 miles (0-300 itinerary miles range)
2nd sector: 280 miles (0-300 itinerary miles range)
  • STEP 3 Confirm Required Mileage
Using the Required Mileage Chart (1 Sectors), confirm the required mileage based on the mileage ranges and seasons.
For the 1st sector (0-300 itinerary miles range in regular season), 6,000 miles are required for award redemption.
For the 2nd sector (0-300 itinerary miles range in high season), 7,500 miles are required for award redemption.
