Certified assistance dogs (Guide Dogs, Mobility assistance dogs, and Hearing Dogs) are permitted to accompany passengers in the cabin free of charge on all routes. Please register your support information via the ANA website when booking, or inform us by email or phone.

On flights originating in or departing for the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, service dogs other than certified assistance dogs (such as alert dogs and psychiatric service dogs) may also be permitted in the cabin, provided they meet specific conditions in accordance with local laws and regulations.

If you are traveling on routes other than those specified above, or if your service dog does not meet the required conditions, your dog will be checked and carried in the cargo hold. When transporting your dog in the cargo hold, passengers are required to provide their own leak-proof, hard-shell crate equipped with a lock.

(Example) Psychiatric Service Dog

  • March 15: NH11 Chicago departure, Tokyo (Haneda) arrival: Allowed in the cabin
  • March 16: NH801 Tokyo (Haneda) departure, Singapore arrival: Checked in the cargo hold

(Example) Alert Dog

  • April 10: NH105 Los Angeles departure, Tokyo (Haneda) arrival: Allowed in the cabin
  • April 11: NH993 Tokyo (Haneda) departure, Okinawa arrival: Checked in the cargo hold

Notes

  • Please keep your dog under appropriate control at all times using a harness or leash both in the airport and on board. It is also a requirement that the dog is fully trained to follow your commands.
  • Our staff may ask you a few questions or verify the dog's condition at the departure airport.
  • If we determine that the dog is not suitable to travel as an assistance dog due to flight safety concerns or its potential impact on other passengers, we may refuse to allow the dog in the cabin and require it to be transported as checked baggage in the cargo hold.
  • We reserve the right to claim compensation for damages if false information is provided in the documents submitted in advance, or if the assistance dog causes any damage at the airport or on board the aircraft.
