Safety Promotion

ANA Group Safety Principles states that "Safety is the foundation of our Business." To realize this philosophy, we believe it is effective to raise awareness of aviation safety and promote activities in the workplace, such as safety-related dialogues and participatory activities, and we are implementing various safety promotion activities throughout the Group.

1. Safety Training at ANA Group Safety Education Center (ASEC)

ANA Group conducts safety education for each ANA Group employee at ANA Group Safety Education Center for the following purposes.

  • Facing the past accidents, understanding other minds, not letting the past accidents fade away, and learning the tragedy of the accidents and the importance of maintaining safe operations.
  • To gain new insights through dialogue with colleagues, visits, experiences, etc and promote ANA Group Safety Principles in each workplace, and act on Course of Safety Action.

ANA Group conducts an emergency evacuation training program for all Group employees. This program aims to provide employees with the basic knowledge and specific actions needed to assist in an emergency as a member of an airline group that promises "safety and reliability" to our customers.

3. Safety Management System Education at Each Level

We provide safety management system education to executives and employees involved in safety-related work and to external service providers to whom we outsource our work, according to the roles required at each level of the organization.

Through this education, we enhance their ability to act in accordance with the Course of Safety Action and foster a safety culture.

4. Safety Communication Activities

4-1. Aviation Safety Promotion and Aviation Security Enhancement Month

Since the Shizukuishi accident in 1971 and the hijacking of Flight 61 in 1999 which both occurred in July, ANA Group has designated July every year as "Aviation Safety Promotion and Aviation Security Enhancement Month" and has been implementing various initiatives.

4-2. Direct Communication between Top Management and Employees

ANA Group provides opportunities for top management to communicate directly with Group employees on safety issues. Top management directly communicates their thoughts on safety, leading to an increase in safety awareness among Group employees. Through this opportunity, we identify issues that each workplace is facing and lead them to solve the problem.

4-3. Publication of the group safety magazine "Flight Safety Review”

Published for ANA Group employees since July 1965 to promote safety. (Published four times a year; digital version started in 2020.)

It contains a wide range of information on safety and security, including introduction of safety and security initiatives of ANA Group and contractor companies, introduction of accidents and incidents, and reports on international conferences.
