The Resumption of Boeing 787 Airliner Scheduled Flights after June
We greatly appreciate your patronage of ANA, and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern caused to everyone affected by the suspension of our Boeing 787 operations.
Since the suspension of these flights, the Boeing Company has enlisted a team of internal and external experts to conduct a thorough analysis (a process in which ANA has also taken part) of all potential causes of the defective conditions related to Boeing 787 flights. Boeing then proposed and implemented technical countermeasures in redesigning the batteries utilized on these aircraft, as outlined in a Service Bulletin issued by the company and approved by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has likewise since revised its "Technical Circular Directive" accordingly.
According to the renovation requirements put forward by the competent authorities, ANA has diligently implemented the technical enhancements and performed trial flights, confirmation of the effectiveness of battery improvement measures, and battery performance monitoring. With the completion of all these measures, ANA has decided to resume the commercial operations of our Boeing 787 fleet on June 1st.
