What are mosaic tiles? Come find out at Japan's only museum dedicated for mosaic tiles

Mosaic tiles are small tiles with surface areas measuring 50 square centimeters or less. Because they are mostly used as construction materials, once the building is demolished, the tiles are also lost forever. The Mosaic Tile Museum was established with the aim to preserve the cultural value of this historic local industry and displays a collection of informational materials and products related to tiles that local volunteers have amassed since 20 years ago.

Make your very own mosaic tile goods!

Visitors of all ages can experience making their very own mosaic tile artwork at the workshop and museum shop located on the first floor. Choose your favorite small goods to cover with mosaic tiles in various colors, shapes, and sizes to create a one-of-a-kind souvenir.
