A Japanese party experience with Morioka Geigi: Elegant traditional culture of Morioka City
Geigi are female entertainers of traditional Japanese performances, such as dancing, singing and Tokiwazu (storytelling with a shamisen stringed instrument), who usually perform and attend to guests during meals. Morioka Geigi, the winners of a past competition among six prefectures in the Tohoku region, are well known for the quality of their performance and have been actively supported by the local community.
Morioka Geigi and party experience
There are only seven Morioka Geigi active as of April 2020, and their charm points are not only their high-quality performances but also their friendly Morioka accents. For those who are interested in this authentic party experience, they have a website where you can make bookings and check the fees. Seminars in a more casual setting are also available.
