Tsutsukihama Beach

Swim and play in the powdery white sands of Tsutsukihama Beach, one of the best beach resorts on Iki Island

The seven Tsutsuki beaches, located on the southeastern part of Iki Island, are the top beaches of the island extending a total of 4 kilometers, with each small beach called by their traditional names. In particular, Tsutsukihama Beach is renowned for its natural beauty; the pristine sandy beach and crystal clear emerald green sea were nominated for several top beach selections of Japan.

Activities to enjoy on Tsutsukihama Beach

Stretching about 600 meters long, the white sandy beach of Tsutsukihama Beach is shallow with gentle waves. In the summer, shops are set up on the beach and offer various fun activities such as jet skis and banana boats. The surrounding area also has many facilities including camping grounds, barbecue spaces and tennis courts. While the starry night sky over the sea is dazzling, the sun rising from the horizon on winter mornings is spectacular.

Nishikihama Beach, a picturesque beach near Iki Airport

One of the seven beaches of Tsutsuki, Nishikihama Beach is a beautifully clear beach that is just a 3-minute drive from Iki Airport. There is an offshore diving spot 10 meters deep, with amazing views of corals and reefs swarming with fishes. Enjoy various marine sports against the colorful backdrop unique to Nishikihama, a rich contrast of the blue sea, white sands, and green pine trees. At the café and bar adjacent to the marine sports shop, relax with a cocktail while listening to the soothing sounds of the waves.
