Appreciate the world-class collection of oriental ceramics in Nakanoshima, Osaka
The museum was established by Osaka City when the Ataka Collection, including two national treasures and 12 important cultural properties, was donated by the 21 companies of the Sumitomo Group. Since then, with mainly Chinese and Korean ceramics, a Japanese ceramic collection and donated works being added, the museum now boasts the largest collection of oriental ceramics in both quality and quantity in Japan.

In the collection exhibition which introduces the museum collection of mainly Chinese, Korean and Japanese ceramics, representative works among 5,500 items including two national treasures and 13 important cultural properties are exhibited. With the Chinese and Korean ceramics of "Ataka Collection" at the core, the Korean ceramics of "Rhee Byung-Chang Collection," Japanese ceramics and modern ceramics collected through donations, are all worth seeing. In the one to two special exhibitions held each year along with the collection exhibition, the charms of ceramics are introduced with specialist themes.

Creative exhibition bringing out the charm of the works
