On the 5th floor of Terminal 1, there are Immigration booths, the baggage claim area, and Customs. Immigration can be reached from the arrival gates on foot, or by going to the 3rd floor and using the APM (Automated People Mover). The APM is convenient for those going between the Immigration Area and Gates 33-80. (Note: There are also moving walkways on the fifth and sixth floors). Passengers using the APM should go down from Area W1 to the 3rd floor, take the APM, and then come back up to Area E1 on the 5th floor.

On the 5th floor, there are also currency exchange booths, bus stops, taxi stands, a passageway to the train station, and the ferry transfer desk. If connecting to a ferry, go from Area E2 to the dedicated APM stop on the 1st floor to go to SkyPier, the ferry terminal. Please see the Special Guidance tab of this page for more details on the ferry.

Immigration

Please present your passport and entry card. Your passport will be returned to you with a departure card.

Baggage Claim

To prevent the wrong luggage from being picked up, an airport staff may ask you to check for the luggage tag information at the luggage claim area.

Customs
  • Present your customer declaration form at the Customs if you have something to declare.
  • If you have items to declare, please go to the red counter.
  • If you do not have items to declare, go to the green counter.

Departure Terminal

Departing passengers should first go to the 7th floor of Terminal 1. This includes those arriving platform stop for departing passengers on the 6th floor.

On the 7th floor, there are ANA check-in and ticketing counters, South/North Immigration booths, and security checkpoints as well as currency exchange booths, an information counter, bus stops, taxi stands, and the Sapphire Lounge.

After going through Immigration and security on the 7th floor, proceed to the 6th floor.

After reaching the 6th floor, proceed to your boarding gate on foot, or by using the APM (Automated People Mover) on the 3rd floor. On the 6th floor, there are currency exchange booths, information counters, the Silver Kris Lounge and the Kyra Lounge. Get details on the airport lounges.

Instructions for Hong Kong International Airport

Ferry Transfer Service

  • * Some ferry services to and from Hong Kong Airport are currently unavailable.
    Please check the websites of the ferry operators for the latest schedules.

Ferry Transfer Service makes it possible to travel to the cities in Pearl River Delta without passing through Immigration and Customs in Hong Kong. Currently, these are the routes are in service to/from Shenzhen (Shekou/Fuyong), Macau (Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal), Macau Taipa, Zhongshan, Dongguan (Humen), Guangzhou (Lianhuashan), Guangzhou (Pazhou), Zhuhai, Nansha.

Passengers who wish to use ferries should go directly to "Ferry connecting counter."

Procedure From Air to Ferry
STEP1 Ferry check-in procedure
  • Follow the signage to the ferry transfer counter in Transfer Area E2 (before Immigration) on the Arrival floor.
  • * Immigration checks are not required. This service cannot be accessed after passing through Immigration.
  • Please show your checked baggage receipt, purchase the ferry ticket, and check-in.
  • If you have a ferry ticket you purchased in advance, proceed to check in showing your passport and your checked baggage receipt.
Baggage:
  • Your baggage will be checked with ANA from the departing airport to Hong Kong International Airport. By showing your baggage receipt at the ferry transfer counter at Hong Kong International Airport, you can have your baggage transported to the ferry destination by the ferry company. (You do not need to pick up your baggage in Hong Kong.)
  • Passengers with checked baggage are required to arrive at the ferry transfer counter at least 60 minutes before ferry departure for document check/purchase of tickets. Passengers with hand baggage only are required to arrive at the ferry transfer counter at least 30 minutes before ferry departure for document check/purchase of tickets.
STEP2 Board the shuttle train (APM) to the SkyPier
  • Please proceed to the dedicated gate located behind the "Ferries to Mainland/Macau" ticketing counter (ferry transfer counter) and take the escalator to the shuttle train (APM) platform on the first floor. From there, ride the APM to the SkyPier (ferry terminal).
STEP3 Board the ferry from the SkyPier (ferry terminal)
Please note:
  • The entrance for the shuttle train (APM) is located immediately before the Immigration area. Immigration checks are not required. This transfer service cannot be accessed after passing through Immigration.
    ANA is not responsible for the operation of the ferry or changes to the ferry schedule.
Procedure from Ferry to Air

Check-in for ANA Group-operated flight departing from Hong Kong International Airport can also be conducted at the time of ferry embarkation procedures.

STEP1 Ferry check-in procedure
  • Please complete check-in and baggage check-in at least 30 minutes before the ferry departure time.
  • During the ferry check-in procedure, we will check your connection time at Hong Kong International Airport, your flight ticket info, your passport, and your baggage.
  • Depending on your boarding terminal, you may be required to check in for ANA Group-operated flights at the SkyPier (ferry terminal) at Hong Kong International Airport.

You can check in for ANA flights departing from Hong Kong International Airport along with your ferry check-in procedure. Your baggage also is transported directly to Final destination.

ANA Sea to Air Conditions of Acceptance:
  • A same-day connecting itinerary from the ferry to an ANA flight
    However, passengers who are connecting to ANA flight 812 on the last ferry the day before their flight departure can also use this service.
  • An air-ticket with a confirmed reservation
  • Enough time to transfer from the ferry to your ANA flight at Hong Kong International Airport
Transfer time:
  • At least 110 minutes is required for transfer at Hong Kong International Airport (from arriving at the SkyPier to the scheduled flight departure time). However, if you check in for your ANA flight at Shenzhen (Shekou/Fuyong), Macau (Outer Harbor Ferry Terminal), Macau Taipa, Zhongshan, Dongguan (Humen), Guangzhou (Lianhuashan) or Guangzhou (Pazhou) ferry terminal, this time can be shortened to 80 minutes.

  • * Passengers connecting from Shenzhen (Shekou), Shenzhen (Fuyong), Zhongshan, Dongguan (Humen), Macau (Outer Harbor Ferry Terminal), Macau Taipa, Guangzhou(Lianhuashan), Guangzhou(Pazhou) are not required to check-in at Sky Pier (ferry terminal) in Hong Kong International Airport. Please proceed to "STEP5. Security check".

STEP6 Refund of Airport tax
  • If your airline ticket includes Hong Kong Airport tax, you can use the form received during check-in to reclaim it. Please ensure that you obtain your tax refund at the Departure Tax Refund Counter located in front of the escalator going down toward the shuttle train (APM) boarding point.
STEP7 Boarding a shuttle train (APM) to Passenger terminal train
  • Please proceed to the shuttle train (APM) at the SkyPier and ride it to the Passenger Terminal Building.
STEP8 Proceeding to your boarding gate
  • Please come to the boarding gate 30 minutes prior to your departure.
Notes
  • There is no ANA ticketing counter at the Shekou ferry terminal check-in counter or at SkyPier (ferry terminal). If you need to change your flight or make a fare adjustment, please contact ANA by one day before the day of departure.
  • If you are checking oversized baggage or require assistance when checking in, please direct any inquiries to your nearest ANA Branch Office.
  • Conditions of carriage of Ferry Company is applied about transport section from Shenzhen (Shekou/FuYong), Macau, Taipa, Dongguan Humen, Zhongshan and Guangzhou Lianhuashan and Guangzhou Pazhou ferry terminal to Hong Kong International Airport.
  • Free carry-on baggage allowance on a ferry is one piece per adult passenger. An excess baggage charge will be applied to baggage exceeding the limit set forth by the ferry company.
  • ANA is not responsible for mis-connection due to ferry operation delay.
