Kumagaya Sakura Tsutsumi
Cherry blossoms and field mustard flowers in full bloom in spring at Kumagaya Sakura Tsutsumi
Just a five-minute walk from Kumagaya Station in Saitama Prefecture, Kumagaya Sakura Tsutsumi has been known as a famous spot for cherry blossoms for 400 years and selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots. About 500 Somei Yoshino cherry blossom trees bloom for about a span of two kilometers along the banks of the Arakawa River, together with bright yellow field mustard flowers. The vivid spring blossom scenery is simply breathtaking. (Please note that the bloom condition of field mustard flowers may vary depending on the year.)

Kumagaya Cherry Blossom Festival
The Kumagaya Cherry Blossom Festival is held from late March to early April every year in accordance with the bloom condition of cherry blossoms, with many market stalls adding to the festive atmosphere. When you gaze at the flowers from atop the riverbank, the sweeping view will make you feel as if you are on the sea of clouds of cherry blossoms. On years that field mustard flowers bloom, the contrast between the gentle pink of the cherry blossoms and the vivid yellow of the field mustard flowers is truly captivating. At night, the cherry blossoms are lit up to showcase another fascinating facet of their beauty.
