Ibaraki Flower Park
Flower paradise on a lush green satoyama woodland in Ishioka City, Ibaraki Prefecture
Over a vast area of approximately 30 hectares, Ibaraki Flower Park takes pride in having many floras from all over the world, including 30,000 roses of 800 varieties, 2,700 peonies and 1,500 plants of various kinds in a huge greenhouse. The park offers a wonderful display of flowers throughout the year, and the spectacular vista of roses in full bloom between early summer and autumn is something you don't want to miss! A panoramic view of Mount Tsukuba from the observation tower is also a unique feature of the park.

Rose Festival: The main event of Flower Park
During the season of spring roses (mid-May to late June), approximately 30,000 roses of about 800 varieties will be in full bloom. Each variety of the queen of flowers is very unique, colorful and beautiful to look at, and has a gorgeous scent. During the Rose Festival, there will be a variety of events, and different kinds of rose items such as rose gelato and ice cream will be on sale. Come and join in a "spring paradise" surrounded by roses from around the world.

Night illumination: Rose Fairies cast a magic spell on the satoyama woodland
A winter night illumination event will be held between mid-November and mid-January filling the park with dazzling lights, musical notes, and floral scents. The entrance area with stunning 3-dimensional objects welcomes visitors with the scent of roses and is a great photo opportunity spot. Flower Park's mascot Rose Fairies are behind the scenes in the areas of Fairies' Fountain, Light Fortune, and Forest Terrace, and a new area, Rose Field, has been added to enhance the rose experience. Meet the fairies and enjoy this fantastic winter event using all your senses.

Yasato de Toreta: a shop that features different kinds of local food
Yasato de Toreta, located in the parking lot of Flower Park is a shop to buy good, safe and delicious fruits, vegetables and meat, harvested and cultivated in Ishioka City, and at reasonable prices. The adjacent restaurant offers an authentic menu that highlights the natural taste of ingredients grown with the top level of care by local producers. This area is well known for different kinds of fruit picking farms, for example, pears, grapes, persimmons, apples, melons, and chestnuts. Tsuji Ichigo Danchi (strawberry farm complex) is a must-visit for strawberry picking and shopping during the season from January to May.
