Umeda Sky Building is a renowned landmark of the Umeda area in Osaka. Selected as one of the world’s top 20 architectures, it has a unique design in which two 40-floor, 173-meter-high buildings are connected by a circular Kuchu Teien (mid-air garden). The observatory is a scenic spot where you can enjoy a 360-degree view of Osaka while feeling the refreshing breeze in the sky.
Escape to the sky from everyday life on a see-through escalator
Rise from the 3rd to the 35th floor by an elevator with a 360-degree view, and from the 35th to the 39th floor on the See-through Escalator to reach the observation deck. Like a warp from ordinary to extraordinary, both the elevator and escalator evoke a scene in a science fiction movie, making them great photo spots on the way to the sky. On the brightly lit 39th floor are shops, tour guide booths, a restaurant and a bar, and the 40th floor houses a gallery and a cafe. Enjoy wonderful views from all the shops, and the 40th floor offers some exceptional vistas.
Dramatic evening scenery that changes every minute
The Sky Walk on the rooftop observation floor gives the feeling of walking on clouds, with a 360-degree view of the city of Osaka. On the west is the Yodo River which flows into Osaka Bay, and on clear days you can see as far as the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, Awaji Island and Mount Rokko. From the Kuchu Teien Observatory, watch the sunset into the sea, a sight so beautiful it has been chosen as one of Japan's 100 best sunsets. Don't miss the moment when the cityscape tinted in evening colors gradually changes into a neon-glittering night scene.
Walk among the starry sky 173 meters above the ground
The Kuchu Teien Observatory is open from 9:30 to 22:30. While the views of the lively city of Osaka from morning to noon and the beautiful sunset in the evening are spectacular, the gorgeous nightscape is a sight to behold. At night, as the skyscrapers illuminate below and the sky glitters above, a path of light called the Lumi Sky Walk appears under your feet. The dreamy walkway is as if walking through a starry sky, while feeling the night breeze at 173 meters above the ground.
